Derek Wellington named OAC Pitcher of the Week

Junior strikes out 11 against Georgetown

(WC Press Release) WILMINGTON, Ohio (April 5, 2004) -- Wilmington College junior pitcher Derek Wellington (Chillicothe/Unioto) has been named the OAC Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 4.

The junior pitched a complete game on Sunday against Georgetown College, scattering four hits and allowing no earned runs while striking out 11 en route to increasing his team leading victory total to 3 with a 3-0 record this spring.

As a team, the Quakers are currently 10-4 and are 0-2 in OAC play.

The next game for the Green and White is on Wednesday, April 7, when the team hosts Rose-Hulman starting at 3:00 p.m.
