  Quakers overpower Temple Baptist

BOX SCORE (Game 1)

WILMINGTON, Ohio ­ The Wilmington College Quakers came back from back-to-back losses to Marietta to erupt on Temple Baptist, scoring 14 runs in the first four innings to run away with a 15-5 victory.

The Quakers started strong in the first inning scoring two runs before blasting out four runs in each of the next three, including a three-run home run by Justin Evans (Franklin/Franklin) in the third inning and a grand slam by Joe Rosato (Mason/Mason) in the fourth. Four different Quaker batters recorded multiple hits as the team tallied 15-base hits on the afternoon.

Justin Evans hit 3-for-3, knocking in four RBIšs while Joe Rosato was one-for-two, scoring two runs and knocking in six RBIšs including the Grand Slam. Burt Cox (Fairborn/Fairborn) picked up the win for the Green and White pitching four shutout innings and striking out two.

The next game for the Green and White is Saturday, April 6 as the team takes on conference foe John Carroll at the friendly confines of Tewksbury-Delany Field starting at 1:00.
