  Quakers take two over Kenyon

WILMINGTON, Ohio ­ The Wilmington College Quakers won both ends of a double header against Kenyon College on Saturday. The Quakers won by scores of 4-1 and 20-6.

In the first game, Luke Ogden (Peebles/Peebles) pitced a complete game victory, giving up only one runs and striking out nine. The Green and White scored two runs in the second inning and two more in the fourth before the Lords could score their first run in the sixth.

Aaron Lawson (Hebron/Lakewood) and Joe Rosato (Mason/Mason) each went 2-for-3 in the victory with Rosato hitting a fourth inning home run.

In the second game, after scoring two runs and one in the second, the Quakers erupted for 10 runs in the third inning. Wilmington scored five more in the fifth inning and two more in the third before the Lords managed a comeback in the seventh inning with five runs, all unearned.

Alan Ledford (Blanchester/Blanchester) was the main catalyst for the Quakers, going 3-for-5 with five RBIšs. Jess Shepherd (Lexington, KY/Lexington Catholic) went just 1-for-3 but knocked in four runs, three of which came from a three-run homer during the 10-run third inning. Ledford had a team high three hits while Josh Ritter (Cincinnati/Purcell Marian) scored four times in the game. Burt Cox (Fairborn/Fairborn) pitched a complete game for his first victory of the season, striking out five and walking just two in seven innings.

The wins give the Quakers their first winning record of the season at 6-5 on the year. The next game for the Green and White is Monday, March 25, as the team travels to Franklin College in Indiana
