Cheerleading team receives Superior Award at UT camp

Squad receives bid to nationals

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Wilmington College cheerleading team competed last weekend at the Universal Cheerleaders Association Cheer Summer Camp, hosted by the University of Tennessee.

Competing with more than 20 teams in the Division III Cheer Division, the Wilmington squad received a superior award and a bid to the UCA nationals in Orlando, Fla., in April 2011.

Captains of the Wilmington team are senior Jazzmine Malone and junior Brittany  Gilliland. The team is coached by Chip Dillon.
