| Q: | What is your housing refund policy? If a student moves off campus mid semester, how does your refund policy work? |
| A: | First, a student must apply and be eligible for exemption. Typically, students in Alternative Housing are not eligible for release from their contract because of the nature of the process to get in to apartment style housing. If a student meets our guidelines for exemption, they are subject to a $500 contract cancellation fee. Billing for room and board ends when the student turns in keys and vacates the resident space. |

| Q: | I was just wondering how are the new students placed into their dorms, and if there is any way one can get a dorm to themselves? |
| A: | There is a Campus Housing Self-Analysis section in the new student application where the student can mark their preferences for roommate and building preferences. Roommates are assigned according to the preferences the new student marks. It's not usually possible for new student to be assigned a room by themself. If the student prefers a single room, they should write on the top of their application that they would like a single room. This will put their name on a waiting list in case any single rooms would become available. If a single room does not open up during fall semester, some usually open up during spring semester. |

| Q: | I was wondering what the requirements and cost of living on campus for the summer is? |
| A: | Summer housing is very limited. Students must work in an approved campus job for at least 35 hours/week. There are 20 summer slots for this program and at least half of those are working for Physical Plant. In addition, students may enroll in the ABX Scholarship program and work at least 30 hours/week. Summer residents are housed in the College Commons and food service is not available. The fee for the housing is the taxable value of $400/month, which is roughly $50. Please contact the Housing Office if you have additional questions, we would be happy to assist you. |
