It’s hard to believe that the first week of the new semester is coming to an end already. For me, the time passes much faster while school is in session and life is keeping me busy. This semester should be a slight sigh of relief compared to last semester. I only have 6 credit hours of athletic training classes this semester (compared to 10 previously) and the classes seem to be a little less demanding thus far. In my clinical rotations, my first assignment is at Clinton Massie High School. I have only been twice so far, but I can already tell it’s going to be a great learning experience. While observing and practicing on campus, there are many other athletic training students around, so we do not get as much hands on practice for rehabs and evaluations as the seniors do. However, I am the only student currently helping at CMHS, so I get to look at and evaluate everything first. So far I have learned all about ImPACT concussion testing and have designed a basic ankle rehabilitation. Although I don’t wish injury upon anyone, I am looking forward to learning more throughout the months of January and February.
