One of my art projects this semester - halfway done. We were to recreate a picture by tearing small pieces of colored paper, and gluing it down, following in a certain color scheme. It took time, but it was kind of fun at the same time!

I am taking a lot of classes this semester and one of them is an art class, called basic design. It is a so-called general education class for me, since I am not an art major. You will get a broad education if you study at Wilmington College. As a Liberal Art school, Wilmington College requires the students to take several general education classes in order to graduate. I have for example battled with two science classes during my time here. I am not a science person at all, so it was a challenge but it also taught me a lot! Now I am also battling through this art class, because I’m definitely not an artistic person either. The class has taught me a lot though, as it aims to teach us the basics behind art and how color schemes works together with balance etc. Now we are also creating our own art projects, as a part of the class. I have done decent, and I am glad that the teacher realizes that not everyone is artistic in this class, but it is still challenging for me. However, this type of “schoolwork” actually allows me to relax a little bit, by not just studying or reading, but actually creating art. So I guess it has had a positive effect on this semester after all!
Even though I have seen some positive aspects of this class, and also other classes I have taken this fall, I am glad this semester is almost over. I am ready for a break! This week has been slower than any other week before, and I guess it is the longing for next week’s Thanksgiving break that slows it down! But now the weekend is here, and I will enjoy it! Hope you will too!
