Bachelor of Arts in Biology

The Bachelor of Arts in Biology is intended for students who enjoy biology, but plan to combine it with a career in another field such as business, law, education or communications. Requirements for the degree are shown below.

A total of 64 hours with grades of "C-" or better is required. Courses other than those offered only as pass/no pass may not be taken on a pass/no pass basis for this major.

• BIO232 Life Processes in Higher Organisms (4)
• BIO315 Microbiology and Immunology (4)
• BIO440 Reseach and Seminar I (4)
• BIO441 Research and Seminar II (4)
• CHM211 Principles of Chemistry I (4)
• CHM212 Principles of Chemistry II (4)
• ENV133 Introduction to Ecology and Environmental Studies (4)
• MTH 162 Statistics for Science Students (4)

BA Required Courses:

• ENV420 Environmental Resource Management and Conservation (4)
• 16 hours of BIO courses at the 300 or 400 level (except BIO380, BIO399 or BIO460).

Also Required:

• Proficiency exam during the sophomore and senior year.
