WC Student Campaign

What is the Student Campaign? This is a student driven program designed to teach other students about the importance of giving back to the College through the Wilmington College Annual Fund. For more information about the Annual Fund, click on WC Fund.

Gifts to the Student Campaign are made through different events and activities on campus each year. Some of the events that the Student Campaign Committee will host during the 2007-2008 academic year are:

Saturday, October 6th – Cornhole Tournament during Family Weekend – open to all WC families.
Monday, October 15th at 9:15 p.m. – showing of Talladega Nights at the TOP. Pizza and refreshments will be served.
Tuesday, October 16th at 5:30 p.m. - Wilmington Nights 5K Race. This is 5K walk/run with a Talladega Nights theme. Top two finishers in male/female category will win a prize. This is open to the entire Wilmington College community.
Quarterly (dates TBD) - Dorm Storm – Throughout each semester, students will be storming the dorms in search of gifts of one dollar or more.

What are the giving options? Students will be able to make a gift at any of the above events, online (it is safe and secure at Make an Online Gift), or by sending a gift through campus mail to Heather Harmon, Director of Annual Giving, Pyle Box 1307. Seniors can also make a gift by signing over their Dorm Damage Retainer Fee before graduation (forms can be picked up in One Stop).

Making a Pledge – This year seniors will be given the option of making a pledge before graduation to be paid within the next fiscal year or by June 30th of 2009. Payments can be made monthly, quarterly, or at one time and pledge reminders will be sent out to remind the graduate of their commitment. The size of the gift does not matter!!

How does your gift help? Gifts to the annual fund are spent in the current fiscal year, so gifts made to the Student Campaign can be used immediately! Your gift will be used for financial aid, faculty research, athletics, theater productions, library materials, and so much more. Every gift makes a difference no matter what size it is.

Senior Class Gift – The Senior Class Gift is a way for your class to leave a legacy at Wilmington College. Throughout the years, the senior class has chosen an item to purchase for the campus with their class gift. A plaque has been displayed commemorating their gift to Wilmington College. The past three senior classes (Classes of 2005, 2006, and 2007) raised money for picnic tables to be placed outside Pyle Center. They will be in place by Homecoming 2007 (October 20th).
