COMMENCEMENT 2014 WEEKEND CALENDAR OF EVENTS
FRIDAY, MAY 9TH, 2014
Seniors should be seated in the Hugh Heiland Theatre by 10:30 a.m. Business casual is appropriate dress for the event. Baccalaureate is a time for reflection and a chance to look back over your college years. After the ceremony, seniors will go to the rock to “sign out” before the Senior Lunch.
The lunch for seniors takes place at 12:00 p.m. in Pyle Center. This is a time for students to celebrate their college journey with classmates and faculty. A special banquet will be prepared -- don’t miss it!
Rehearsal will take place at 2:00 p.m. in Hermann Court immediately following the Senior Lunch. Rehearsal attendance is VERY important to ensure an orderly and efficient ceremony. Seniors will learn which side of the gym they will enter and can inform their families which side will provide optimal viewing.
SATURDAY, MAY 10TH, 2014
Seniors will gather in the Boyd Cultural Arts Center at 8:45 a.m. to form the academic procession. Seniors must be on time. Professional photographers will be available to take your photo. The doors in Hermann Court will open at 9:30 a.m. for guests and everyone should be seated by 10:00 a.m. The procession will begin at 10:15 a.m. and no guests will be allowed to enter Hermann Court during the processional march. Remember that there will also be a recessional march at the end of the ceremony.
Immediately following Commencement, graduates and their guests are invited to attend a reception under the tent on Collett Mall.
