Caps and gowns are required for Commencement. Here is the procedure for obtaining them:
Caps and gowns are required for Commencement and may be purchased at the College Bookstore, starting the first week of April, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Monday through Thursday, and 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Try gowns on before leaving bookstore to ensure proper fit.
Caps and gowns are required for Commencement. Complete and return the order form to the front desk at your home branch by Monday, March 24th. Caps and gowns will be available for pick-up beginning Monday, April 7th. Payment for your cap and gown is due at the time you turn in the order form.
It is suggested you wear comfortable shoes and men should wear trousers. This is a solemn occasion and appropriate attire under your gown is expected. Also, there is no provision for securing personal property. Carefully consider what you bring with you. We strongly discourage carrying large items (i.e. balloons or bouquets). Caps should be worn flat, and male graduates should remove their caps during prayers. Women do not wear the white collar, which comes with the gown. The tassel is to be on the right and will be switched to the left during the Commencement ceremony. You are permitted to wear institutionally recognized academic honor cords.
