President's Advisory Council Shares Expertise with the College
Group Hears Plans for Landscaping, Enrollment and Sustainable Agriculture at Fall Meeting

A group of Wilmington College alumni and friends that comprise the President's Advisory Council spent last Thursday and Friday (Sept. 20 and 21) on campus learning about new initiatives and offering their advice on advancing the College.
They came from as close as Wilmington to as far away as San Francisco, Los Angeles, Maryland, Louisville and Washington DC.
President Jim Reynolds said the group holds a sincere dedication to the institution.
“I greatly appreciate the energy and enthusiasm the PAC members displayed while on campus last week,” he said. “They bring to the table a great deal of expertise gained in numerous career fields and life experiences, and personify the best of the College’s mission and values.
“I’m really grateful for their commitment, wise counsel and friendship.”
Reynolds noted how the President’s Advisory Council has evolved in both scope of membership and sphere of influence since trustee Robert Touchton and Chris Burns-DiBiasio established the group in 2007.
The PAC’s mission is to assist the president, the Board of Trustees and the Advancement staff in broadening and deepening the College’s relationships with alumni, parents, friends, businesses, foundations, and the federal and state government to develop financial resources that will ensure fiscal stability, program growth and facilities improvement.

Robert “Chip” Harrod, vice president for advancement, coordinates the PAC’s semi-annual meetings each fall and spring. He also praised the members for an especially substantive meeting.
“We’re tapping into the valuable human resources we have among our alumni and friends of the College,” he said.
While previous meetings have focused upon such issues as marketing and preparing for strategic planning, the fall meeting took a serious look at enrollment management, in addition to learning about a soon-to-be-introduced minor in sustainable agriculture and the initial year of an ambitious master plan for campus landscaping.
The PAC attended the Farm-to-Table Benefit Dinner Thursday evening and also found time to interact with students, faculty and staff while on campus.
