WC Trustee Fred Krisher Passes Away

Class of '59 Alumnus Was Volunteer Master Gardener in WC's Grow Food, Grow Hope Project

Frederick Dale Krisher, age 74, of Clarksville, formerly of Fairfield, Ohio, died on March 9, 2012, in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Born December 22, 1937 in Massillon, Ohio, he was the son of Sheldon and Harriet Wardell Krisher. He celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary with Mary Ellen Hadley Krisher on June 10, 2011. He graduated from Wilmington College (B.A.) in 1959, attained additional accreditations of FLMI and AALU, and retired from Cincinnati Financial Corporation in Fairfield in 2004.

Prior to his death he served on the Board of Trustees, the Presidential Search Committee and the Grow Food Grow Hope Project at Wilmington College. He was a member of Cincinnati Friends Meeting and Clerk of the Board of Trustees for many years.

During retirement he participated in several Friends Disaster Service projects. He previously served as Treasurer of Wilmington Yearly Meeting, and President of the Cincinnati Daylily and Hosta Society.

He is survived by his wife Mary Ellen of Clarksville, Ohio; daughters Rebecca Krisher (Jason Herrick) of Denver, Colorado, Rachel (Jeffrey) Miller of Loveland, Ohio and Sarah (Chad) Wyckoff of Dalton, Ohio; grandchildren Ellen and Aaron Miller, and Andrew and Seth Wyckoff; and brother, James (Donna) Krisher of Brentwood, New Hampshire.

Visitation will be held at Cincinnati Friends Meeting, 8075 Keller Rd, Cincinnati, Ohio, 5-8 PM Tuesday, March 13, 2012. A Memorial Service will be held at the McCoy Room at Kelly Center on the Wilmington College campus, College St, Wilmington, Ohio, 2 PM Wednesday, March 14th, 2012, with burial immediately following at Springfield Friends Cemetery, 121 Todd’s Fork Rd, Wilmington, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wilmington College, Pyle Center, Box 1307, 1870 Quaker Way, Wilmington, OH 45177.
