Sidney Mishkin, Chair

Sidney is a 1959 graduate of Wilmington College. He is a partner in the Mishkin & Fall law firm in Indianapolis and is one of the most highly regarded attorneys in Indiana.

Thomas C. Hill, Vice Chair

Partner, Taft, Stettinius & Hollister LLP. Member of the Eastern Hills Friends Meeting in Cincinnati. Graduate of Case Western Reserve University and the University of Chicago Law School. Active in the Wilmington Yearly Meeting, Ohio Valley Yearly Meeting and the Friends World Committee for Consultation, and a Quaker history buff.

Thomas Gravlin, Secretary

Tom is a 1967 graduate of Wilmington College. He is a retired Shell Oil Company executive, having ended his 35-year career with Shell serving as their Ohio Retail District Manager. Tom was a great proponent of student internships with Shell and at least two Wilmington College graduates were given the opportunity to remain with Shell following the completion of their undergraduate work.

Mary Katheryn Hilberg, Assistant Secretary

Member of Wilmington Friends Meeting, Wilmington Yearly Meeting and active in the local community. Graduate of Ohio State University College of Nursing. Retired Family Services Coordinator in the Wilmington City Schools.

Paul Neumann, Treasurer

Quaker. President, Universal Woods, Inc., Louisville, Kentucky. Graduate of Queens University and Carnegie Mellon.

Craig Beam

Former President of Melvin Stone Company. Attended Wilmington College, Ohio State, and received an MBA from Xavier University. Member of the National Bank & Trust Board of Directors. Also has served on several other boards, including the Clinton County YMCA.

David Harcum

Wilmington College graduate. President, Harcum-Hyre Insurance Agency. Former Superintendent of Greenhills-Forest Park Schools. Trustee, Fairfield Medical Center. Vice President, Decorative Arts Center of Ohio. Founder, Abuse Prevention Fund.

Darleen M. Myers

Clinton County Commissioner, an active member of Wilmington Friends Meeting and the local community. Former Ohio State University Extension Home Economics Agent. Graduate of Ohio State University.

Earl L. Evens

Member of the Fayetteville (North Carolina) Friends Meeting. 1958 graduate of Wilmington College. Retired from a management career in the Campbell Company. Antique business, community volunteer.

Roy Joe Stuckey

Wilmington College graduate (1948), Masterís Degree and Ph.D., Ohio State University. Quaker, member of Campus Friends Meeting and an active participant in wider Quaker communities, committees and concerns. Former Wilmington College administrator and faculty member, past president of Jamestown College (North Dakota), and fund raising consultant. Currently developing a retirement community in Arizona.

Peter Sturtevant

Senior Vice President, NBC (on leave). 1965 Wilmington College graduate. Master of Arts degree in journalism and communications from the University of Iowa. Named a Distinguished Wilmington College Alumnus in 1975, received an Alumni Citation Award and inducted into the Collegeís Athletic Hall of Fame in 1997. University of Iowa School of Journalism Hall of Fame (1987). Red Cross Disaster Relief Worker and Instructor. Whoís Who in America (1995).

Marjorie E. Nelson

Quaker. Graduate of Earlham College, Indiana University School of Medicine, and Yale (M.P.H.). Faculty member, Department of Social Medicine, Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Douglass McDonald

President and CEO of the Cincinnati Museum Center, which, with more than one million visitors annually, is one of the top cultural attractions in the Midwest. He holds degrees from William Penn College and Christian Theological Seminary (Indianapolis).

Robert E. Buerger

Law clerk, United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, former group vice president for Dayton Power & Light Co. Previously served on WC’s Board a record 17 years, 1987-2004, including six years, 1996-2002, as chair. Awarded honorary doctor of laws degree from Wilmington College in 2005.

Anne Marble Caramanico

CEO, A.D. Marble & Company, an environmental consulting firm specializing in transportation infrastructure development in the Middle Atlantic states, based in Conshohocken, Pa. Daughter of former WC President Samuel D. Marble and Becky Marble Bonnell.

Guy David Hawley

Minister, Indian Hill Episcopal Presbyterian Church, Cincinnati, former pastor at Wilmington Presbyterian Church from 1978-2003. Currently serves on the boards of the Metropolitan Area Religious Coalition of Cincinnati, National Bank and Trust and the Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Services Foundation.

John “J.R.” Reid

Regional vice president for Campus Services for Sodexho, Dublin, Ohio. Sodexho, which facilitates WC’s dining services, is the leading provider of food and facilities management in North America. He has worked for the company for 29 years.

Robert E. Touchton

On leave of absence to serve as interim Vice President for College Advancement.

Recently retired as administrative law judge in the Office of Hearings and Appeals for the Social Security Administration in Cincinnati after serving from 1994-2004. He has previous professional experience in business and law. A 1965 Wilmington College graduate, he has been a member of the College’s Alumni Council since 2001, including serving as president in 2004-05.

Timothy P. Trayer

Doctor of veterinary medicine and senior partner with Agricultural Veterinary Associates, 1995-present. A 1975 graduate of Wilmington College, he was engaged in other veterinary practices from 1979 to 1995.

Joe Volk

Executive secretary of the Washington D.C.-based Friends Committee on National Legislation. Prior to joining FCNL, he worked 18 years for the American Friends Service Committee and served as its national secretary for peace education from 1982-1990.

J. Stephen Smith

Catholic.  CEO, Smith-Fike-Minton, Inc., Wilmington.  Graduate of Xavier University.  Appointed to the Wilmington College Board of Trustees in 1994 and resigned in 1998 to provide interim leadership for the College Advancement Office on a volunteer basis.  Active in community affairs.

Sandra Neville

Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Wilmington Medical Associates, Wilmington, Ohio.  Former nursing faculty at Miami University, Ohio.  Member of Wilmington Friends Meeting.  Has served previously on local nonprofit boards that provide services to at-risk children and adults with mental retardation and developmental disabilities.  BSN from Capital University, MS in Nursing from Wright State University, and completed a graduate Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program from University of Cincinnati. 

Stanley Caine

President of Adrian College in Adrian, Michigan from 1989-2005 and Vice President for Academic Affairs and professor of History at Hanover College from 1977-1989.  Trustee, Centenary College (New Jersey).  B.A. from Macalester College and an M.A. and Ph.D. in History from the University of Wisconsin (Madison).  Served as Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs at Wilmington College during the 2006-07 academic year.
