FACULTY POSITIONS

SPORT MANAGEMENT PROGRAM DIRECTOR/ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF SPORT MANAGEMENT

Wilmington College of Ohio is seeking a Sport Management Program Director / Assistant / Associate Professor of Sport Management. The successful candidate will administer and develop the Sport Management undergraduate program that offers both Sport Administration and Wellness concentrations. In addition to teaching and advising, this position is also responsible for faculty oversight for internships within the major.

The position is tenure track at the Assistant/Associate Professor rank (commensurate with experience) and starts in the fall semester of 2012-2013 academic year. Doctorate and three years teaching experience preferred.

ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS

DIRECTOR OF MULTICULTURAL AFFAIRS

Wilmington College, Office of Multicultural Affairs, is seeking applicants for a Director. This 12 month, full-time position reports to the Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students. Wilmington College, a career-oriented liberal arts institution affiliated with the Society of Friends (Quakers), is located in southwestern Ohio, approximately one hour from Cincinnati, Columbus, and Dayton, and has an enrollment of nearly 2,000 traditional and non-traditional students. Two branches in Cincinnati serve a large number of non-traditional students.
The Director of the Office of Multicultural Affairs provides direct support services to underrepresented student populations in the areas of cultural adaptation, personal development, and academic success.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The following duties are customary for this position, but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs.
• Supervises daily operations of the Office of Multicultural Affairs; and manages administrative, budget and strategic planning responsibilities
• Manages programs and resources which could include addressing incidents on campus that affect campus incivility and intergroup relations
• Serves as a resource to students as they navigate through the campus culture
• Networks with the campus community to sustain and enrich a campus climate that is welcoming to all members
• Collaborates with Academic Affairs as well as other areas on campus in addressing issues of recruitment and retention of ethnic minority and culturally underrepresented students
• Supervises the peer mentoring program
• Provides leadership in developing and organizing initiatives and special events that promote diversity a climate of mutual respect and cooperation for all members of the campus community
• Continues to develop outreach programs and related administrative responsibilities
• Assess the campus environment to enhance the campus climate regarding multicultural and diversity initiatives affecting students
• Supports the initiatives of the campus diversity plan in concert with other campus constituencies
• Represents department and/or division on various campus-wide committees
• Performs additional responsibilities as assigned by the Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students


Required Qualifications:
• Substantial demonstrated experience (minimum of five years) as a leader and advocate in a higher education setting
• Experience in Multicultural Affairs/Diversity Office preferred
• An earned master's degree in a related field (such as Student Affairs, Counseling, Higher Education Administration, etc.) that will serve to enhance the stature and academic visibility of diversity and multicultural affairs
• Demonstrated leadership and experience in the areas of diversity/multicultural training and organizational development
• Knowledge of major diversity issues facing colleges/universities; and a strong vision for and commitment to diversity endeavors in a private college
• Demonstrated the ability to develop and implement student of color retention activities
• Excellent administrative skills including budgeting, community and public relations
• Experience with cultural program development and management
• Ability and desire to serve as a strong advocate and coalition builder particularly with regards to diversity-related matters
• Possess excellent communication and consensus building skills to work productively with students, staff, faculty, campus leadership, and community groups in order to facilitate connections, build partnerships and collaborations

ADMISSION COUNSELOR

This individual will guide prospective students and their parents through the admission and financial aid processes with personal interviews and telecounseling. Seasonal travel, visiting high schools and attending college nights, is required. Some evening and weekend work is required.

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree, with related experience in admission and/or marketing is helpful. Also requires strong presentation, organizational, computation, communication and multi-tasking skills. Familiarity with private higher education preferred. Event planning experience preferred. DIRECTOR, CORRECTIONS EDUCATION

Wilmington College seeks an enthusiastic, dedicated Director for its post-secondary educational program conducted within three Ohio correctional institutions. The Director will be responsible for both the oversight of the lower division, non-degree program in Business Management and the supervision of all adjunct faculty.

Significant college teaching experience and a Master’s degree are required; an earned doctorate is preferred. A demonstrated work history with non-traditional students is highly desirable.

In addition to the academic demands of the program, the Director must be skilled in written and verbal communication, be able to deal effectively with multiple publics, and maintain their own portfolio of classes they are qualified to teach.

This is a twelve-month position with an anticipated start date of July 1.

NETWORK TECHNICIAN

Wilmington College seeks a dependable, outgoing individual to provide support of daily operations, monitoring, troubleshooting and management of Network Infrastructure in a Windows environment for server hardware/software, desktop hardware/software, email, enterprise applications, databases, security issues, and backup/recovery. This position includes but not limited to the following duties: technical support for the network infrastructure and server base; expert diagnostic analysis of personal computer systems and necessary repairs; troubleshooting connectivity issues; development of computer facilities and services, designing technical specifications for desktop systems, network topology, support strategies; configuration, installation and testing of LAN/WAN network components; assist with developing documentation of procedures; work with Information Technology staff to improve functionality and accessibility of data processing resources throughout the institution. Qualifications for this position are Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus two years of related technical experience, experience with the following applications and systems: Windows Server 2003 and 2008; Exchange and Active Directory; LAN/WAN, VPN, DHCP, DNS; Firewalls, Routers, and Switches; Backup and recovery processes; SQL and SQL administration; Data and fiber optic cabling; desktop support for Windows XP & 7 and Mac OS; Microsoft Office 2007 or 2010; virtualization, VoIP, and basic telephony a plus.
