Freshman PlungeA group of 19 incoming freshmen cleared brush on Clinton County land in an effort to help create a prairie on 5.5 acres near the College Arboretum and the 4-C Bicentennial Trail. That was one of the the group's activities during three days on campus, July 12-15, in which they engaged in leadership development and team-building activities. The students were identified among incoming freshmen as being potential campus leaders during their College experience at Wilmington. Fall 2006 semester classes start Aug. 21. |

Little Sibs Weekend 2006Over the past several years Wilmington College has hosted hundreds of sibs for our annual Sibs Weekend. We've hosted sibs ages 3 to 23. This event, sponsored by APB welcomes brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews, neighbors and more to our campus. All ages are welcome. Locks of LoveNearly a dozen college and community members donated at least 10 inches of thei hair to Locks of Love, which produces wigs and hairpieces for children who've lost their hair due to chemotherapy or childhood alopecia. |

Lytle Creek Pavilion DedicationThe Trailhead Pavilion for the Lytle Creek Greenway was dedicated Oct. 21 in activities that included a nature hike, fun run, bridle trail ride and complimentary lunch, in addition to the dedication ceremony. The completed segment of the Greenway, which ultimately will traverse the entire City of Wilmington, runs from the Trailhead Pavilion off Davids Drive to Wilmington College's Hazard Arboretum. The College is owner of the nearly mile and a half section of the Greenway. |
